Off-Season Tips

Perhaps the best way to improve during the offseason is to focus on stick skill development.
Players can do this pretty much on their own. All a player needs is a bunch of balls, a local wall (handball courts are even better!) and if possible, a goal. Spending a 2-3 days per week during December, January, and February doing the following drills with your stick on your own, will pay off when the season starts between February 27th and March 1st.
So, pick up the stick, get to the wall or get to a goal! US National Team members, Max Seibald (Cornell and now NLL and MLL pro) and Paul Rabil (Johns Hopkins and now MLL and NLL pro) practice their shooting, catching and passing every single day.
Remember, truly great players are made in the off-season and truly great leaders are willing to put in the extra work!

Joe Walters, the all-time leading scorer for Midfielders at Maryland, NLL player, LXM PRO player and former US Team member demonstrates the right way to do wall ball and he makes some great points about where to stand, how to throw the ball and why wall ball is so critical to becoming a better player! Preach on, Joe!
